Emergency Radiology Fellowship

Program Overview

The Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Imaging Sciences is pleased to offer a 1 year, non-ACGME fellowship in Trauma and Emergency Radiology.  This fellowship has been approved by the Indiana University School of Medicine Office of Graduate Medical Education. Applications for 2014 and 2015 are now being accepted.

The fellowship training will be based primarily at IU Health Methodist Hospital, the 5th largest hospital in the nation and the busiest Level 1 trauma center in the state of Indiana. Methodist Hospital sees an estimated 100,000 patients each year, including over 3,500 trauma evaluations per year. The IU Health Level 1 trauma centers, including Wishard Hospital and Riley Hospital for Children, evaluate over 250,000 patients including more than 6,500 trauma patients. In 2011, the Emergency Radiology section interpreted in excess of 200,000 radiologic exams. 

Applicants must have an MD or DO degree from an accredited institution, completed an ACGME-accredited residency in diagnostic radiology by the first day of fellowship, must be eligible for board certification or certified by the American Board of Radiology, and must be able to obtain licensure in the state of Indiana.

Selection of applicants is based on a review of all required submitted documentation, relative academic strength and other criteria determined by the program director in consultation with other faculty members in the division will be invited for a personal interview with the program director, with the consultation of other faculty members in the division. Interviews are conducted on an on-going basis.
