Honors and Awards

2011-2012 Awards

Members of the radiology department, including faculty and residents, are honored annually with awards for teaching, research, and scientific presentations.  Listed below are the most current award winners.  Recent past winners can be found in our award winner archive.

2012 Campbell-Klatte Lecture Series Winners

The Campbell-Klatte Lecture Series is a departmental lecture series that takes place in the spring to showcase the research work of select residents and fellows.  Fellows and third-year residents are required to submit a research project for oral, poster, or electronic presentation.  Winners are determined by the scores from faculty judges.

2011-2012 Teaching Award Winners

The Glenn D. Moak Teaching Award is presented to the radiology resident who has demonstrated excellence in teaching medical students.  The recipient is selected by the medical students based on informal teaching during reading room interactions and/or formal lectures given to the senior radiology clerkship students. 

The Heun Y. Yune Teaching Award is presented to the faculty member who has demonstrated excellence in educating residents.  The recipient is selected by the residents based on daily interactions and/or noon conference lectures.

The Golden Apple Teaching Award is presented to the runner(s)-up of the Yune Teaching Award to acknowledge and encourage excellence in resident education.

2011-2012 Research Award Winners

The RSNA Research & Education Foundation gives the Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award, designed to recognize and encourage outstanding residents and fellows in radiologic research. Each participating North American residency program will receive an award plaque with space to display a brass nameplate for each year’s nominee. The Foundation also provides a personalized crystal award for the department to present to the selected resident or fellow.
